Each year Columbia Bank's employees actively participate in employee giving campaigns benefiting local United Way chapters and Columbia Cares. Employee gifts have totaled almost $1 million since 2009. In 2018, Columbia Bank introduced its matching gifts program, through which each employee can have up to $100 of their annual charitable contributions matched by Columbia Bank.
In addition to contributing to the United Way employee giving campaign each year, employees go out into the community and participate in a variety of Day of Caring volunteer activities.
Columbia Cares is a stand-alone non-profit organization, led by a Board of Directors comprised of Columbia Bank employees. Columbia Cares was created by employees for employees and community members as an emergency relief fund to help Columbia Bank employees and community members in times of need.
