Since 2012, Columbia Bank employees have reported over 100,000 hours of volunteer time. Employee volunteer time continues to trend upwards as Columbia Bank grows its volunteer program. Employees are empowered and encouraged to use their 40 hours of paid volunteer time each year to actively engage with the nonprofits they are passionate about, recognizing the needs of their local communities.
April 29, 2017 marked the first annual Melanie Dressel Community Commitment Day. Over 600 employees and community members hosted 67 volunteer projects in Melanie's honor, resulting in more than 2,200 volunteer hours being served in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
Melanie helped each of us understand both the importance and the value of giving back to our communities. She served as an extraordinary example, making time within her impossible schedule to do whatever was needed.
